The Silva Mantiana Labyrinth

A tangle of easy walks that wind through the mysterious Macchia Grande di Manziana and along its borders.

Under a roof of imposing oaks, we will go in search of hidden treasures, testimonies of ancient stories, jealously guarded by the forest and its "inhabitants". We will follow the borders of the Macchia to trace the steps of the Roman armies on ancient paving stones, which passed here on their return to Rome after the long military campaigns and we will cross the surrounding countryside in order to finally reach the Natural Monument of Caldara di Manziana, residual testimony of a past volcanism.

Between history, fantastic tales, nature and geology we will let ourselves be enveloped by the intense colors and smells of the Wood and its nearby geyser, magical jewels, but perhaps a little "hellish", in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of Bracciano and Martignano.

Itinerary on small roads, mule tracks or wide paths; the routes are generally not long, do not present any orientation problems and do not require a specific training if not the typical one of the walk. It develops in the immediate vicinity of towns, tourist resorts, communication routes and is of particular interest for easy cultural or tourist-recreational walks.
